Tetra4 CLUSTER 2 Virginia Gas Production Project

In 2022, Tetra4 (the applicant) commenced with an application for Environmental Authorisation for the Cluster 2 gas production activities which would form an extension to the existing Cluster 1 gas production being undertaken near Virginia in the Free State Province. The application followed a full Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessment process which culminated in a positive Environmental Authorisation. The EA was subsequently appealed and the DFFE Ministers decision on the appeals required certain further assessments, public participation and thereafter reconsideration of the EA decision by the DMPR Minister. This website makes the updated Environmental Impact Assessment Report available for public review. A registered interested and affected party is defined in Regulation 42 of the NEMA EIA Regulations and includes: all persons who, as a consequence of the public participation process conducted in respect of that application, have submitted written comments or attended meetings with the proponent, applicant or EAP; and all persons who have requested the proponent or applicant, in writing, for their names to be placed on the register. 

By accepting this notice you also confirm that the information contained on this website will only be used for the purposes of fulfilling your obligations and rights defined in the NEMA or other specific law. 

 Only persons over the age of 18 may accept this notice, or in the case of a child, by a Competent Person as defined in the POPIA. Competent Person means ‘any person who is legally competent to consent to any action or decision being taken in respect of any matter concerning a child’.
